MOM. SUCH A GREAT WEEK. Being a Zone leader is so great. The other Zone leader and I drove up to Afton for a district council (which is district meeting, they just changed the name). We taught about finding as we teach and teach as we find. As well as obedience. It was really powerful!! I felt like an actual Zone leader going way out there and teaching that district specifically. It was powerful to testify in the name of Christ and help unify and uplift that district. SO fun being able to be a leader in this mission! We also made a commitment to find everywhere we go when we go somewhere for mission business and we've done it every time!
Best part of this week was last night... We taught our investigator Dani at our ward mission leaders house. Her best friend, who is her fellowshipper came, her name is Kate. So Kate's sister is serving a mission in Minnesota and they are all best friends. We got ahold of the sister a few days ago and asked her if she wanted to video chat into the lesson and she was super stoked. We both talked with our mission presidents and they were okay with it. It was a total surprise to Dani and Kate and it was awesome to have a little reunion there, but most importantly the spirit was incredibly strong. It was one of my top lessons on my mission, where the spirit bore to ALL our hearts of the truth of this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There wasn't a dry eye in the room! At the end, we asked if we could all hold a special fast this Sunday for Dani. She wants nothing more right now than to be baptized, but her parents won't give her permission. Our fast is in hopes of a miracle this week (or in the future, because it's all according to God's will!) that Dani's parents will give her permission to be baptized. We've fasted for this before as a companionship, but haven't asked for help until now. The missionary handbook says to not tell family to join in fasts for people in our mission, but please please pray for her and her family this week. We are praying for a miracle. The Bible Dictionary gives this definition of miracles... "they are simply works, or the natural results of the Messiah’s presence among men;" We need the presence of Christ and angels this week, so please pray for her.
Snow has fallen in Soda Springs... We got about 4 inches earlier this week and it just kept snowing and snowing. It stuck for about a day but the weather heated up so it's mostly all melted. (Also Idaho heating up is about high 30s). It's been cold for sure though! Mornings are in the single digits and it's been staying in the 30s most all day. I've adjusted to the weather for sure though! I wear a short sleeve with a sweater and an overcoat and I'm good in that weather!!! The wind hasn't come yet, that's the only bad thing about Idaho haha. I love it here!!!!
Tuesday we have Zone conference in Montpelier and it's gonna be shweeeeet. Zone conference is my favorite thing about transfers for sure. This weekend we will be having a baptism for our man Antonio! He's an older dude that had a stroke and lives in the living center at the hospital! He really wants to be baptized the way Jesus was and we've been going over the baptismal interview questions and he believes it all. It's incredible! So that's on Saturday. Then right after, we have to drive to Afton (1.5 hours) to do an area blitz for a strongly area in the zone! There will be 7 companionships going there for a few hours to blitz the area. We are pumped for it!!!!!!!! Pray that goes well too.
Like I've always said, I've never been happier. This Gospel brings real joy. Not even close to other ways we find happiness. The joy I feel from reading the scriptures and having a personal relationship with God has changed my life. The experiences I've had while on my mission have shaped me into a man. I know my purpose here on earth and why God puts me through trials. I know He cares for me and KNOWS me. One of my favorite scriptures recently is 1 Nephi 21:16, "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." He knows our names just as well as we know his. I love this Gospel more than anything and want everyone to know that.
Love you mom!
